Maximum weight: 10kg (22lbs)

Current I.G.F.A all time record: 8.61kg (19lb) - Zululand, South Africa - 26 May, 1962

Identifying features: This species only has one dorsal fin. Upper body is silver gray with a blue or green hues. The lower body is silver white, while the sides of the fish are silver. The jaw is positioned in such a way that it allows for easy bottom feeding.

Expected temperature range: 72° F to 86° F (22° C to 30° C)

Migration and breeding: COMING SOON!!!

Typical location: This is an inshore species and sometimes can be found in waters less than 6" deep. Inhabits sand and grass flats, shallow coral reefs and lagoons where it feeds on crabs, shrimps and other shellfish.

Fighting characteristics: FANTASTIC!!! A very fast, strong fish that fights well beyond it's size. Long, powerful runs are typical for this fish. Ideal fish to target with fly tackle.
