It's
a scientific fact that all monofilament tests change under different
atmospheric and testing conditions. Platypus PRE-TEST is made using
stable, consistent conditions and the very latest electronic load cell
testing machine, which is accurate to within+- 00.05%. The machine has
a working range from 00.25 Newton force (00.01 lbf.) to 5,000 Newton
force (1,124 lbf.).
Conditions for testing are: Constant rate at traverse, bollard grips, sample length 500 mm, crosshead speed 200 mm per minute, temperature of 20 degrees celcius (+ - 1) and a room humidity of 50% (+- 2%). Platypus PRE-TEST has one of the lowest water absorption rates of any monofilaments due to it's unique annealing process. Water absorption leads to a lowering of the breaking strain but Platypus PRE-TEST is only 2-5%. |
